At this point we're on the right side of the line. The recipient only has to dig into their own pocket a little, which feels like participation rather than you being stingy. And this is already enough for, say, a speaker.

How is the gift card delivered?

Digitally, to your email, right after purchase. You can print it out or forward the code to the lucky recipient.

Does the gift card expire?

No. Use it whenever you want. It would be a real dick move to take someone's money and then tell them the gift card expired. We're not that kind of company. Some are.

Can the gift card be used in multiple purchases?

Yes, any remaining balance stays on the card for your next purchase.

Can the gift card be used on discounted products?

On discounted products, yes, but due to store limitations, combining a discount code and a gift card at the same time can be a bit awkward. Maybe Shopify will sort that out one day.

What if the recipient never uses the gift card?

Honestly, that's the best possible business for us. But of course we hope they do use it (no we don't).
