Product Description

People thought we were outright crazy when we decided to make our own headphones in 2019. The world already has dozens, if not hundreds, of headphone manufacturers, many of which are international megacorporations. How could a small Finnish company bring anything new to the market?

Well, now that we have sold tens of thousands of headphones to satisfied customers worldwide (to be exact, in 58 different countries), no one questions our sanity anymore (in this matter, at least). The VMK20 noise-cancelling headphones have such great sound quality and value for money that people love using them.

You don't need to be a victim of advertising to buy them – even in Iltalehti's comparison (a leading Finnish newspaper, plenty of other reviews available online), the VMK20 had the best value for money on the market against much more expensive models.

We've listened closely to user feedback and continually learned more about our customers' needs and preferences. Our biggest challenge in developing the VMK20 model was to keep everything good and polish away the weaknesses.

The design of the VMK20 noise-cancelling headphones has been refined by Finnish Ratamo Design. We've developed a new Bluetooth antenna, improved the noise-cancelling technology, upgraded the microphones, and enhanced the overall quality.

Our sound designer Jasse took the world's best hi-fi headphones as a reference and tweaked the VMK20's sound until he cried with joy. The sound should now be spot on. We are confident that these are the best noise-cancelling headphones you can get for this money. If your budget allows, you should also check out the big brother, the VMK25 model.

There are many good wireless and noise-cancelling headphones on the market, but the VMK20 offers outstanding quality at a reasonable price. By purchasing these headphones, you help us build the Death Star and conquer the entire galaxy. The Death Star has spots reserved only for our customers. Come along and experience a new dimension of sound!

The best you can afford!

Finnish design - The fabric coating of the headphone cups designed by Lauri Lumme is not just darn pretty and lightweight, it also has a specific function: It resists moisture, dirt, and wear. In addition, it protects noise-cancelling microphones and picks up less wind than a smooth model.

A battery that lasts - Few things suck more than your headphones running out of power in the middle of a long journey. That's why we added a battery that lasts over 50 hours of music listening. Travel from Europe to Australia. Relax with dingos, snakes, and whatever else. And fly back to your dismal job. All this without having to charge your headphones.

Excellent sound quality - Our sound guru Jasse "Jazmanaut" Kesti took what he considers his favourite high-end headphones (Meze Empyrean, about €3000 from the store) as a reference and tailored the sound profile of the Valco VMK20 noise-cancelling headphones towards it until he wept with joy. The sound is now one of the most accurate, compared to any headphone category in any price range (and certainly at least in this price range).

A great tool for unnecessary remote meetings - Are you a one-man call center? Enjoy high-quality hands-free calls from the CVC8 microphone and talk for up to 40 hours straight (which probably corresponds to one Indian call center employee's shift - these guys work really hard). For real hardcore team players and office rats, we have a separate additional microphone thing.

Headphones for years to come - Are you someone who ruins everything you touch? Don't worry! We offer a full 24-month warranty, and even after that, we can repair them through our repair service or even supply you with new pads.

What the heck is noise cancellation?

In this video, Jasse "Jazmanaut" Kesti explains what noise cancellation is all about.

Note! The video tests VMK25 headphones, which have slightly better noise cancellation than the VMK20 model.

Great products without the extra baggage*

Did you know that almost all headphone electronics come from a few giants?

Everything else is just smoke and mirrors.

A small manufacturer like Valco can use the same high-end components as the well-known mega-corporations in their more expensive models.

We just don't have a thousand employees, a skyscraper in Manhattan, or a CEO (yet) with a private jet to support. This allows us to offer you the best price-performance ratio on the market.

And what happens after you buy? Our customer service and Valco's own maintenance ensure that our products last – and if you want variety, you can trade in your old Valcos with us. Try that elsewhere.

In the end, what matters is why we do this. We sell headphones to get money for our Death Star to achieve galactic domination.

FAQ

More answers to various questions can be found here.

Do these have a built-in microphone?

Yes, they do. All VMK series headphones have a built-in hands-free microphone that allows for calls and boring Teams meetings.

Are these suitable for gaming?

If you're playing single-player games, why not. But Bluetooth still isn't very good for wireless gaming headsets. If you want to use the VMK headphones for gaming, it's worth buying the wired microphone thingy, so you'll have excellent noise-cancelling headphones for gaming as well.

How do Valco headphones differ from competitors' headphones?

Our headphones offer excellent sound quality, long battery life, and they are as comfortable as a feather pillow. And best of all, they are designed in Finland. By buying Valco headphones, you can be sure that your money mostly goes to the Finnish taxman.

While the headphones don't radically differ from others (besides being excellent value for money), our customer service is something you won't get elsewhere. Can you send other branded headphones for service after the warranty period?

Of course, the biggest difference between us and others is that we are real people. The money you give us honestly goes to beer, child support, big gold watches, and sports cars. Or at least what's left after the Finnish taxman takes his cut.

Unlike our competitors like [Big Japanese or Korean conglomerate], [World's largest American corporation], and [Big German microphone factory], you can always reach Valco's entrepreneurs and even go for a beer with them. Many have done it, even from abroad.

Try that with [Megacorporation].

Do Valco headphones have a warranty?

Of course! We believe in our products so much that we give them a two-year full warranty (which is more comprehensive than others). If the fault is clearly ours, we'll help even after the warranty period with headphone issues. And don't worry about the warranty ending – unlike other headphone manufacturers, we have our own service. If you encounter problems, we're here to help. But don't worry, Valco headphones are as reliable as Finnish sisu!

What is the difference between the VMK20 and VMK25 models besides the price?

Both headphones have top-notch Bluetooth connections and sound quality that will make you dance. The VMK25 is just a bit better. Its construction is sturdier, the materials are more expensive, and it has a new type of noise cancellation and new headphone elements. However, both headphones are totally worth the money.
