Used VMK20 and VMK25 models can now be traded in for new headphones
Here at Valco we've launched a trade-in program that might be the first of its kind in the world. We couldn't be bothered to google it to make sure.
You can trade in your old headphones for new ones and get credit: 40 euros for VMK20 models, 60 euros for VMK25 models. Or the equivalent in developing-nation flip-flops, if you'd prefer.
We've been selling used Valcos for years now, probably the only headphone maker in the world doing that. The trade-in program is a natural next step. You get a discount on new headphones, your old ones don't end up as e-waste, and we get serviced headphones back on the shelf with a warranty. The Death Star gets built a little bit faster.
Valco has its own repair shop in Kajaani, where we fix headphones even after the warranty period ends. This is probably also a worldwide exception. As long as Hannes can still hold a soldering iron, your headphones won't end up in a landfill.

We'll email you instructions on how to pack and send the headphones to us.
3. Get your credit
Once we've received your headphones, we'll email you a credit code to use towards new ones.
Are your headphones broken?
No problem!
You can also trade in broken headphones. As long as they're still repairable, we'll take them in exchange for new ones.
Repairable means the parts are more or less all there. Worn-out padding or a snapped headband is no problem.
This isn't just a good option for consumers, it actively promotes the circular economy and sustainable development. It also helps Valco's business. Returning used headphones means we can resell them, which cuts down on e-waste.

Which headphones can I trade in?
You can trade in Valco VMK20 or VMK25 models. We don't accept competitors' headphones or other Valco products. This campaign only applies to the VMK20 and VMK25 models.
How much credit do I get for my headphones?
When you trade in your old headphones, we'll credit you 40€ for the VMK20 model and 60€ for the VMK25 model toward new ones. You'll receive the credit as a discount code you can redeem in our online store.
How do I send you the headphones?
You'll need to mail the headphones to us here at Valco yourself.
Print out the shipping label you receive, pack the headphones carefully, and mail them to Valco Oy, Takojankatu 13, 87400 Kajaani, Finland.
