We think the Nordell Micro is at its best hanging from your belt loop next to a flashing plumber's crack, blasting a hockey game or a soccer match while you're elbow-deep in a drain unclogging yesterday's kebab meal and need your other hand for a beer can.

Soap-sized, but with the sound of a big speaker

In the American measurement system, this speaker is the size of a bar of soap and weighs about as much as an apple. For the rest of us: 200 grams and about 10 × 8 × 4.5 centimeters. But don't let the size fool you. This little Bluetooth speaker plays so loud that many bigger and more expensive ones are left speechless. And like a real bar of soap, you probably shouldn't drop it on a prison shower floor. It does have a rubber back to prevent slipping—whether it's on tiles or a truck dashboard.

Just like its big brother, the Nordell Micro isn't fazed by water, sweat, or even the occasional pee splash—thanks to its IPX6 protection. This makes it the perfect speaker for the cabin, construction site, or festivals where hygiene is more of a theory than a practice.

Bluetooth works as long as you stay close to the beers.

Bluetooth works within a range of about ten to fifteen meters – and honestly, why would you want your drink or phone any further away? When fully charged, this little portable speaker can blast for 3–6 hours, depending on the volume, climate, and alignment of the planets. If it could fit a bigger battery, it wouldn't be this small anymore – and then it wouldn't be this.

To be honest, this is Chinese engineering—and we're not hiding it. Without Chinese manufacturing, you wouldn't get it at a price you could afford. But the sound, the settings, and the soul are made in Finland. More specifically, at Valco, and even more specifically by Jasse “Jazmanaut” Kesti, who we think is Finland's—if not the world's—best sound Nazi.
